France recorded the second straight win at the start of the World Championship in Turkey. They fired past Lebanon in Group D tonight. Mickael Gelabale top-scored for France once again unloading 18 points.
The lead changed hands for several times throughout the opening frame. France eked out a narrow 22:20 advantage after ten minutes. Bokolo and Mickael Gelabale tipped off the second quarter with back-to-back three-pointer to organize a 16:2 run that put France up by 16 points 38:22. Les Bleus arrived at halftime leading by 14 points 42:28. Lebanon used a 7:0 run midway through the third term to get closer. But France quickly replied and marched to a 63:47 advantage at the final break. Mickael Gelabale and Alain Koffi began the fourth quarter with four points in a row and never looked back en route to a confident win at the end.
Alain Koffi finished with 17 points for France. Ian Mahinmi and Nando De Colo delivered 14 points each for the winners. Jackson Vroman answered with 19 points for Lebanon. Fadi El Khatib had 12 points in the losing effort.
