Byblos – August 24th – EddéSands Hotel & Wellness Resort announced hosting an unprecedented Indian theme night that saw the Layali Zaman restaurant’s garden terrace transform into an authentic Indian haven. This anticipated event took place on August 19th at the renowned wellness resort that has been an active cultural contributor on the Lebanese scene particularly that of Byblos.
Newly appointed Indian Chef Vikas Bains used his culinary expertise to bring India’s finest spices to life in a fiesta that brought together members of the Lebanese Indian Friendship Association, members of the Lebanese media and VIPs under the patronage of Indian Ambassador in Lebanon, H.E. Ravi Thapar.
“Like Indian Culture, Indian food is influenced by various civilizations that have contributed to its culture and has developed quite a unique taste that requires specific cooking techniques,” says Chef Bains, “Indian food is better known for its poignant flavors and very few people outside India are aware of the amazing medicinal properties found in the spices that are so generously and widely used across India.”
This cultural evening, hosted by Alice & Roger Eddé, will be part of an Indian Festival to be held this October and will be followed by a Bollywood musical night that will transport guests to the very heart of India. In the meantime weekly Indian dinners will be held at LayaliZaman, giving an avant-gout of the Indian Festival.
