England midfielder Lampard out of Euro 2012!!

England suffered a major blow before the start of Euro 2012 when experienced midfielder Frank Lampard was on Thursday ruled out of next month’s tournament with a thigh injury.

The Chelsea midfielder underwent a scan on Thursday to assess the extent of the damage, and it has been deemed he will not be fit enough to compete at the tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

“It’s a huge blow for the team, especially coming after the loss of another senior player in Gareth Barry,” said England manager Roy Hodgson.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Lampard claimed he had no plans to retire from international football, and the 33-year-old did not expect Euro 2012 to be his last tournament with England.
